Better URLs for Japanese Presentations

We’ve made an improvement to how Speaker Deck generates URLs for presentations with Japanese titles.

Starting today, new presentations with Japanese titles will automatically generate cleaner, more accurate Romanized URLs.

It’s a small change, but one that many members of the Japanese Speaker Deck community have asked us to improve over the years.

What about existing presentations?

If you have an older presentation and would like its URL updated using the new format, just reach out to us (support@speakerdeck.com) and we can reprocess it for you.

And don't worry about links you've already shared. Your existing URL will automatically redirect to the new one, so links posted on X, GitHub, blogs, websites, or anywhere else will continue to work.

Japan has long been an important part of the Speaker Deck community, particularly among developers and engineers sharing their work, ideas, and conference talks.
